Would You Hunt Grizzly Bear in the Greater Yellowstone Area if Idaho, Montana, and/or Wyoming Established Regulated Bear Harvests?
Various groups are suing or planning to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service over the delisting of grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE). SCI has decided to participate in these lawsuits to defend the delisting. The delisting returns management of the bears to the states, which could lead to the establishment of well-regulated grizzly bear hunts and result in better management of this predator species.
For SCI to participate, they need to confirm that SCI members would participate in any future hunts in the GYE in Idaho, Montana, and/or Wyoming.
