NRA-backed Bills Signed in Arizona – Arizona gun owners won a major victory today as two NRA-backd bills were signed into law. Father protects himself and son at Texas drive-thru, KTRK, Houston, Texas 05/07/16 – A father and son were in a vehicle in line at a McDonald’s drive-thru in League City, Texas when an armed man approached and leveled a gun at them. The father, and Right-to-Carry permit holder, responded by drawing a gun and shooting the assailant three times, killing him. Following the incident, a reporter spoke with the armed citizen’s attorney who said of his client, “I think he would want other citizens to know they have a right to protect themselves. You have to be cautious all the time, wherever you are.”

The Louisiana House of Representatives will consider NRA-supported House Bill 1155 by State Represetative Valarie Hodges (R-Denham Springs) on Wednesday, May 11. HB 1155 is the substitute bill for House Bill 176, which NRA-ILA reported to you was voted out of the House Administration of Criminal Justice committee last week. HB 1155 establishes an expedited process for victims of domestic violence, who have obtained permanent protective orders against their abusers, to obtain temporary concealed carry permits from the Louisiana State Police. |
